We rely on your help to keep spreading friendship and peace world-wide! Whether you're an enthusiastic teen, a stay-at-home mum wanting to help the community, a retiree looking to give back or anyone else, we'd love to welcome you to our close-knit team. Only basic computer skills and minimal time commitments are needed for most positions (plus volunteering is great on your resume!). Are you passionate about friendships and believe friends are a wonderful part of life? If so, you might like to consider volunteering in the Advice Forum. The Advice Forum is a safe and friendly place to get and give advice about friendship and life. Team members make sure posts don't have inappropriate content such as insulting or hurtful comments. You can volunteer as much time as you can, but ideally logon for a few hours a week. You'll need basic computer skills, good discretion and to be over 16. We would prefer if you've used the Advice Forum before. Interested? Programmer - Web and/or Database Design Do you spot all the ways The Friendship Page could be improved to be made more user-friendly? Do you groan at our clunky design? If you have skills in database or web design, we'd love to hear from you! We have several projects which need work, including the design of the site, a few changes to Find-A-Friend (PHP/MySql), converting the Advice Board (from Ultraboard 2000 to phpBB) and more. So if you'd like to put your skills to help the world - and gain experience working on a site that gets 10,000 hits per day - please let us know! (It looks pretty good on your resume too!) Language Translator We welcome visitors from all around the world. To make the experience better for those from non-English-speaking backgrounds and encourage diversity, we'd like to have copies of The Friendship Page up in different languages. If you have skills in another language, please apply to be a translator! We'd be delighted to have any language, especially German, French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Chinese and Arabic. You can either translate from scratch or just tidy-up the automatic Google or Babel-Fish translation. We'd like only a few pages translated, including the front page and one quotes page. Country Representative Want to encourage diversity and global friendship? We're looking for one person at The Friendship Page to represent every country in the world. At this stage, we would like to hear from people who are interested in representing their country by giving ideas and brainstorming ways we could improve. It would help if you are a regular visitor to The Friendship Page, and any age is welcome! It's a position which would suit anyone as it will require very little time - but lots of enthuasism and a belief in peace, tolerance and world friendship! Interested? Find-A-Friend Admin Would you like to help facilitate friendships between thousands of people from all around the world? Find-A-Friend is The Friendship Page's safe and friendly place for meeting new friends. To be safe for all ages, every membership profile must be manually approved by a Find-A-Friend Admin before it is added to the community. You'll be checking for errors, typos and inappropriate content such as sexual references. You can volunteer as much time as you can, but ideally logon for a few hours a week.
